RAFW trends: Textured Hair

Forget soft bouncy waves and glossy blow-dries. Hair for next summer is all about texture: slick, matt and the more messed up the better. At Friedrich Gray, hair went through a series of  textured transformations as the show went on. Strands started off soft and straight, then a mixture of ghd Obedience Cream and ghd Shining Serum was heavily applied to the models’ ends for slick definition and worked its way up to glossy wet-look up ‘dos.

For camilla and marc, KMS International Director, Clive Allwright proved that the dirty next-day club hair look can still be sexy providing its done the right way. For that he blasted models’ strands with KMS California Hairplay Sea Salt Spray and applied Hairplay Dry Wax to the roots for extra definition and lift. “We repeated this four or five times so that the end result was almost like a slightly matted tendril,” he said backstage. The ends were twisted with Hairplay Clay Crème for added rock-chic glamour.

At Ginger & Smart, the clothes referenced the 80’s while the hair nodded towards the future. Sculpted, slightly messy egg-shaped ‘dos were pinned at the nape of the neck and the sides slicked with KMS Hairstay Max Gel.

The beauty about these textured looks? They don’t have to be perfect. Sexy disheveled styles for summer, here we come.
